Last night we had our sixth or seventh annual New Year's Eve Family Game Night (we started this when Daniel was two or three - can't remember exactly - I do remember the first game we played on family game night was Memory - that's something isn't it?) Every year for New Year's, we eat dinner at home (last night we made homemade pizza and bread sticks) and then chase it with a yummy dessert or two (last night we baked chocolate chip cookies and made ice cream sandwiches using homemade vanilla ice cream - Yum!). Then we have a fun night of game playing. Last night's games were Shadows Over Camelot (for the first time in a LONG time, we lost!), Mario Cart, and a hilarious (maybe we were just tired at this point) game of Apples to Apples. We don't stay up until midnight, but we do toast the new year at some point in the evening with sparkling grape juice, and talk about the high points of the past year. Last year had lots of high points. Last night had lots of high points, too. It was a really fun evening.
