What's In a Name?

I read several blogs on a regular basis. Most of them are listed on my side bar, but I occasionally read others. I'm curious about something: where did your blog name come from?

In my case, my URL name 'CREEVEDOG' comes from my first real job. I worked in a Help Desk, and we used these old mainframe systems. Our user IDs were so prevalent in these systems, we just started referring to one another that way. CREEVE4 was my ID (my first initial, coupled with a common misspelling of my maiden name) and that somehow morphed in Creevedog. Some of our IDs stuck so well that we still use them to this day (take my good friend Twinger, for example.) So I use Creevedog anytime I need a unique identifier that I know no one else is using.

Mixin' It Up came from my desire to feature my mixer prominently. I thought it would be a neat metaphor of sorts for what I would write about, but now, three months later, I don't think I've really mixed anything up, metaphorically speaking. But I do continue to mix up cookie batter and the like. So it works.

What about you? If you have a blog, how did you choose the name? And the URL name? And if you don't have a blog, what would you name it if you had one?

My URL comes from the two finest films made during the 1970s. (The lowest cultural point of the planet Earth)
The blog title comes from how I roll, Yo.

Mine had to do with underwear. Actually, a byproduct of many years of playing in bands is that every so often you hear a combination of words and think "whoa, that would be an awesome name for a band." My son was making some comment about his underwear being "tighty Whiteys" and I said "Hey, if you ever have a band you should call yourselves that. He said no thanks, so I used it for my blog name. Cool huh? In retrospect, I'm afraid it might make someone assume I'm some kind of uptight racist.
